Lows & Highs: Car Repair

Low: I tried to fix a car and my attempted repair did not work… On the bright side, I am confident I did not make it worse! One of our college student friends could not get her car to start on Thursday, so I tried to help by asking the same diagnostic questions my dad has asked me when my car wouldn’t start. I checked her answers with my dad and then met her at the college with my tools. The battery cables and terminals were corroded and I was able to clean off one but the other would not loosen. The car still would not start when we tried to jump-start it, so it had to wait for someone more experienced than me.

High: Brian had a math educators’ conference on Saturday so I had a girls’ day with the same friend. We highlighted each other’s hair, watched a movies, and had a fun time chatting.

Lows & Highs: 11/21-11/27/12

Why, yes, I did semi-unintentionally take Thanksgiving week off from blogging. It turned out to be a hectic week and posting was a low priority, but I’m back now!

Lows: 1) I traveled at least 1,958 miles by car last week. 2) My grandparents have a cat and, after two days of visiting them, I am still very congested.

Highs: 1) My car got repaired just in time for us to take it to Colorado. 2) I got to spend got to spend Thanksgiving visiting my mom’s side of the family with my parents, all my siblings, and their families. We had lots of fun and the allergies mentioned in my lows were worth the visit.

What were your lows and highs from Thanksgiving week?

Lows & Highs: 11/6-11/13/12

Low: The ‘check engine’ light on my car has been on for several days & we haven’t figured out what is causing it.

Highs: 1) My dad replaced my spark plugs in the cold, drizzly weather on Sunday (now that’s a great dad!). 2) Alec and Veronica returned from their honeymoon last weekend and stopped by to visit before Bible study on Tuesday evening. It was the first time I had gotten to visit and catch up with Veronica in several months since she has been so busy with wedding plans and moving.
